Rooted Founders
Rachael Knight
Rachael’s story begins in Kingston, Jamaica, where she was born into a rich culture and vibrant community before her family relocated to Florida when she was just a little girl. Growing up, Rachael navigated the waves of change with courage, but her biggest leap of faith came years later, during a time when the world felt more isolated than ever. It was at the height of the global pandemic, and Rachael was preparing for one of life’s most sacred moments—marriage. Yet, she realized she was missing something essential on her journey: a community of God-centered women to walk alongside her.
With an earnest heart, she took her need to prayer, asking God for guidance and companionship. And little by little, as if whispering back to her heart, God began to plant the seeds of Rooted Women’s Ministry. It wasn’t born from a detailed blueprint or years of planning but from a simple, wholehearted “YES” to God. Despite not knowing where it would lead or how it would grow, Rachael trusted God’s plan, and Rooted took on a life of its own, evolving from her need for connection to a thriving sisterhood that now meets the deep need for authentic community in so many women’s lives.
Today, Rooted Women’s Ministry opens it's arms to women from all walks of life, embracing every race, background, and story, united by one unshakable truth—Jesus Christ. It’s a place where women can be real, supported, and encouraged in their faith journey.
Rachael’s journey and the ministry’s foundation echo one of her favorite scriptures, Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Rooted stands as a testament to that faith—a confidence in God’s promises and a vision for a community she once dreamed of but hadn’t yet seen. Today, that vision is a vibrant reality.
Lucy St Fleur
Lucy is a proud Haitian-American and Miami native, bringing a rich cultural heritage and vibrant energy to everything she does. She’s a graduate of Florida International University, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology, diving deep into understanding the human mind—a passion that has only enriched her journey and interactions with others. But there’s more to Lucy than academics. She has a knack for creativity that shines through her love for travel, photography, videography, and content creation. Each project she takes on allows her to tap into her talents, capturing and sharing the world’s beauty through her unique perspective.
Lucy’s heart for giving and serving others isn’t just a hobby; she sees it as a divine calling, a way of living out her purpose. Raised in the church, she spent her formative years singing in various church choirs, her voice lifting in praise and joy. To this day, her love for music is deep-rooted, and she’s known for her warm presence and joyful spirit.
One of the verses closest to her heart is Habakkuk 2:2-3, which she takes as a divine directive: “And then God answered: Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn’t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time.” For Lucy, this verse is more than words—it’s a roadmap and a promise, reminding her that the dreams and visions she’s been given are on their way, right on time.
Lucy’s life is a beautiful blend of faith, creativity, and purpose, and she’s just getting started.
